| Job Description: |
Bring your environmental knowledge in the area of waste management to this exciting role with the Ministry of Transportation! In order to ensure compliance with waste management and spills legislation, you will:
• provide advice and guidance to management and staff
• oversee and coordinate the development and implementation of contaminant assessment and remediation plans
• monitor waste management practices for compliance
• draft policies and procedures.
This is a 12-month contract. Location: 1201 Wilson Avenue, North York (Toronto).
Qualifications:
Environmental knowledge:
• You are experienced with environmental issues, practices and management techniques related to environmental waste management (e.g., storage, transportation, reuse, recycling, disposal; site cleanups and spills).
• You can interpret and apply waste management legislation, policies, guidelines, procedures and related environmental legislation.
Other skills:
• You demonstrate analytical and negotiation skills.
• You have proven oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• You demonstrate judgment when dealing with complex and sensitive issues.
• You are organized, meet deadlines and work independently in a multidisciplinary team setting.
• You have a valid driver’s licence.
Salary range: $1,230 - $1,501 per week
