I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for activities or events that companies have/can set up to show their concern about the environment.

The company I work for used to have an 'enviro-day' where we cleaned up a park or beach and then spent the afternoon at a BBQ with a raffle draw.

Last year there was a bit of grumbling from the employees because it took a whole Saturday away from them, and it was _strongly encouraged_ that all employees attend. Last year there was no Enviro-Day and it looks to be heading that way again this year.

I'm looking for something that a group of 50 -100 people could do, which could be entertaining for most. Any ideas???

we have an event on the Little miami river every year sponsered by the county that might fit the bill. the lcal canoe livery has a clean up day where the canoes are free for everyone on a given stretch of the river on the condition that the canoers pick up trash along the river on their way down. There is a cook out at the end and prizes are given for most trash collected, strangest trash collected, heaviest trash collected, etc. I haven't followed it for a few years but the last year I did they collected over 4 tons of trash from the river. Not fun for everyone but it would show concern for the environment and preform a public service as well.
