Is there a simple way to recuperate zinc oxide from waste water? Flow approx 5 gallons per minute, continuous flow.

Most metals can be precipitated out of water by adjusting the pH. I'm not sure how the oxide would affect this but a good industrial wastewater treatment manual should have the pH levels and suggested treatment methods for recovery. Keep in mind that the precipitant will be Zinc Hydoxide with some other impurities possible attached as well. Some new reverse osmosis systems are also available for straining water, mostly in lower volumes. Niether of these methods will give you pure Zinc Oxide, but they will drop them out of the water.
