Hi I'm working for Ridgetown College in Ontario. We're looking at hosting an environmental awareness program at the college or offsite for elementary school aged children. I was wondering if anyone knows about such programs that exist or has any good ideas for us. We're having a review meeting Friday the 18th. Thanks for the help!

You may want to contact the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society if they have an office near you. They have an environmental education program that is free and there are many topics to choose from. The website (I think) is www.cpaws.org for more information.

I know of one group that educates children about environmental issues surrounding groundwater and earth science - Groundwater Education Ontario - contact Mr. Peter Gray @ 519-741-9011.

Alternatively please contact me directly by e-mail.

Take a look at the Canadian Schoolground Transformation website - http://www.schoolgrounds.ca/schoolgrounds/. There are hundreds of ideas for projects, curriculum, etc. here.
