Hi,
I am interested in recycling drywall. What would be the best approach to do so? Can I recycle it myself? Is it a profitable business in Ontario? Thanks

I am a small builder/developer in Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. I have thought about looking into recycling drywall for a number of years on a commercial basis. There is a ton of construction in the greater DC area. All the scrap drywall goes into the landfills or incinerators. There has to be some viable way to make this work. Landfills are filling up and incinerators are reaching their capacity. Tipping fees are going up and municipalities are trying to increase recycling to 50% of all solid waste. Please let me know how I can further research the feasibility of this project. I am at financailly stable situation in my career where I can investigate possibilities such as recycling drywall. Thanks, John
